Willow Beach is located about four miles west of the historic town of Port Hope. This is the area farmed
by Harold Reeve, a noted conservationist and local historian. Harold and Florence Reeve lived in the
Port Hope area their entire lives and acquired the property at Willow Beach in 1948. They were
stewards of the Port Britain marsh, a provincially significant wetland, and were founding members of
the Willow Beach Field Naturalists
Now, Harold and Florence’s two great grandsons, Malcolm and Graham, have taken on the challenge to grow a new business here on the shores of Lake Ontario. They are rejuvenating conservation space and a small amount of farmland around Willow Beach for honeybees.
Award Winning HoNEY
We keep our honey as natural as possible, unfiltered and raw. This maintains as much of the beneficial properties of honey preserving the enzymes and trade elements. Our honey, together with other honey products, has won the top award at the Port Hope Fair two years running.
We love our bees and love to show them to interested visitors. Most days they are unbothered. Come visit us just west of Port Hope and we are easy access off the 401. Plan ahead as we do not have a store or regular posted hours.
We have two young and very experienced beekeepers. They both have an innate sense of what to do and they have a calmness around bees that makes it all seem very easy.

Malcolm started working summers at Dancing Bee Apiaries while attending University of McMaster. By graduation, he had become the head beekeeper at Dancing Bee. During this time, Graham also joined Dancing Bee and worked the last few years as a professional beekeeper. Now, together with Cassandra, they are working to develop their own products and viable beekeeping operation here at Willow Beach.
